'O' Level Art CourseworkY
Finally, after months of struggling, a final boost during the September break and burning midnight-till-dawn oil last night, I'm done with my coursework!!!
I'm pretty satisfied with my works. Most importantly, through this entire journey creating Art from scratch, I learnt to take charge of my character and show it in my work, especially for my supporting studies and development. I sincerely thank Mrs Tan for her guidance and for teaching me so many different ways to create art and to help me out whenever I was stuck.
I found out that many things can be done within my abilities; it's just that I do not have the confidence to just do it. My eldest bro motivated me much to being life to the 8 flat pieces of supporting studies. At the very last resort, due to time constraint, I forced myself to do pen sketches directly on to the board, which means no error can be allowed at all, once a stroke was drawn, there was no turning back. It turned out awesome!
I even did an entire board showing the layout using pen sketching. Initially, I wanted to give up pen sketching after completing the "Singapore part" because the "China part" was intimidating to me. I had the idea to resize and print the "China part" and then trace on tracing paper. After which, using an ink-less pen, sort of engrave the lines on to the board and shade them lightly with pencil. Then I realised that I didn't have the softcopied China landmarks. Hence, I was stuck. Ultimately, out of desperation, I compelled myself to just hold the pen and draw. And miracles happened; I managed to complete my work! It was simply stunning.
Like what the TK Team of Youth Congress 2007-2008 used to say, "Simplicity is the key to success." Simple sketching is classic art - pure beauty. That piece of board was one of my favourite ones.
So, today is the deadline. 60% of the most time-consuming subject is down... what a relieve. Just when you think I'm done with art, guess what? Art Prelims is just 2days away and I haven't even started doing anything.
I'm not a reTARD; I'm an ARTard =D
