16 and striving onY
The Mid-year Examinations just ended a few days ago, and so did my birthday. This year's birthday is really different because there's no cake (and I didn't feel bad about it), no huge heavy dinner.
Anyway, a big thanks to all those who tried to make my birthday special with your well wishes.
12 May had never been so special. On my 16th 12 May, for the first time in my life, I celebrated a birthday during the examinations period.
My lifestyle has probably changed due to my learning environment, and partially myself, so I'm not as successful as I used to be. I struggled through this mid-years. It absolutely sucked to lose your confidence. I'd never ever felt nervous for exams. Now I understand what my neighbour used to complaint to her mom about -- to be totally prepared for exams but to blackout in the midst of the exams.
There was so much to study for. My plan wasn't to get a distinction for every single subject, but those that were within reach. Being better-prepared as compared to last year's exams, I desperately wanted to do well and get out of the low self-esteem cycle. It freaked me out when I saw my hand trembling and I couldn't control it while I was holding my pen.
Blame myself for being so nervous, my performance for Higher Chinese, A-Maths, E-Maths and Chemistry was disappointing. I know where I got wrong and how to improve.
Let bygones be bygones, there's no point feeling gloomy now. I'll just have to work harder and smarter, i guess.
So the past 2 weeks were the best time for self-study, I had little exercise and kinduf didn't care much about the house. This weekend was payback time. The painters were all geared up to re-coat my entire house! There were a lot of shifting, waiting, staring, cleaning up and clearing up going on in the house.
Cleaning had never been this effective. Because we had to shift all the furniture out, we were able to clean the dust-filled corners and edges where lizard shit was spotted occasionally. It had been exhausting, but fruitful. At least my house look brand new now.
My lifestyle varies differently every day. Most of the time, I find it pointless to use the computer, which is good, right? Or is it a sign that I'm going aimless again?
This blog used to be my life... I even studied here! If I'm not mistaken, my first few posts were all notes from Sec 2... haha.
Don't worry bout my blog being dead.. it won't... it will take care of itself... I'll just walk by when I'm bored =]
