Post Exams Day 2Y

I wouldn't sum up yesterday's Lunchtime Showcase as a disaster because I think mine was the only super perform-like-no-performance item.

Here are some impressive improvements from last year:
- We had a platform stage in the middle of the canteen which successfully captured most people's attention!

-It was cosier than last year's venue.

-We were able to continue the show despite the unhelpful rain.

-There were more performance items up than we had expected which meant that it was more responsive and well-liked by the students!

Here are some room for improvements:
-Plannings need to be prepared earlier.

-More time should be given for preparations on the act day

-More chairs should be brought into the canteen.

-Sound system should prepare an acoustic microphone especially when someone plays a musical instrument which produces clear, light and pleasant music known as the Guzheng!

This was it. I got up the stage. People were quite impressed with a girl carrying a musical instrument which was larger than a guitar all on her own. They were amused seeing a musical instrument which they had hardly have a chance to see and hear.

As part of the organising team, I was supposed to be the "extender" of the show if there's a need to. Well, there was. So Mdm Shahera asked me to perform 2 songs instead of 1.

Look, the thing was that the normal vocal microphones were not powerful enough to capture the soft tune of the 2 pieces I had been practicing the passed few days.

Those who could hear sounds either chose not to hear or gave up since it was noisy. And so the noise level went up. Close friends tried to show their support by giving giving me their attention. Most switched off totally from the Lunchtime Showcase.

The AVA people were trying to fix and adjust the mics to maximise the volume and was unsuccessful even till the last string I strummed. It was really bad for I couldn't really hear my Guzheng too. What was meant to be a hope became a disaster...

We had bands, karate, silat, violin and magic too, so was a good mix of different types of performances. There were also impromtu performances by 2 other combinations of half bands... haha, if you get what I mean.
Thanks Rifat, for trying to make my day. He said that I did well >.<
Thanks Dude!

It was really fun to interview the new SCs too. Most of them didn't know what's really expected from them and what the SC does, from what they told me.

There were awesome people I couldn't wait to recruit them in and some were totally off the job.
As a whole, I think the teachers and the ExCo felt that this batch of nominees were pretty outstanding in general, but who will take over after the our next batch of ExCo? It's really hard to tell with no performance to judge. Well, I do have a girl in mind whom I feel has the X-factor and the potential to lead the SC... hopes she gets into the top 5 then.

ProjectWork Conference!

The only thing I could help as a student councilor was to design the coverpage for the event, which I did.

With the theme: Ignite you Imagination, I thought of thought-bubbles and light bulb (representing ideation). So there's this big empty cloud at the top right hand corner of the page. During my RadioShow presentation, I saw this Sec 2 girl who filled that empty space with all sorts of drawings in many colours, and that made me feel that, hey, that's the whole purpose of igniting your imagination with your own ingenuity!

This was the first time I actually present my project together with my group because I was on MC on presentation day. In other words, today was the first time I heard our group's production work. I would say it's not perfect, but in deed it's a job well done =D

Since the extra component was the interactive part, they handed that segment to me >.<>

Here are the words up on the powerpoint I made:

Alumnae
Sobriquet

Christian Lacroix

Lingerie

Many teachers popped in to join in the fun and it's really quite facinating to see all the different reactions, like how some people can look so puzzled just to try to pronounce a word... hilarious.
