It was meant to be a surprise birthday celebration for Sharmane and Clarissa since their birthday coincidentally falls on the same day, which is tomorrow. So Astrid organised a class gathering at Qixiang's house.
What was planned to be a barbeque turned out to be indoor cooking (obviously by me again) in his little kitchen with a gigantic refrigerator due to the poor weather condition. This reminds me of the ice-cream tupperwares at the freezer. After cooking all the raw food, I thought of coming up with an interesting combination of eating marshmallow - to eat it with ice-cream - so i approached Qixiang.
me: hey, are those ice-cream for your family or us? since you've got so many, why not eat it with the marshmallows? him: oh, you want arh? take loh. but my ice-cream flavour is prawn, fish, those kind. people who heard: ewww... me: (he must be kidding, like who will believe) don't joke lah, you'all believe meh? him: really really, you go see lah. me: (went to check it out; there wasn't a single scoop of the frozen dessert, it appeared to be just as he said, frozen tiger prawns and some other seafood.) ok, you win. Astrid:(she saw me opening the tupperwares) what? not ice-cream? all seafood arh? Eeeee... me: yah loh, just when I was thinking of eating the marshmallows with the ice-cream. Astrid: Ewww... (must be thinking of frozen seafood with marshmallows...haha) Though there was no barbeque pit, we used the heating element in the small oven to peng kang the marshmallows and to our surprise, it was much faster than doing it on the pit. The fluffy candy was so tasty that Justin kept snatching them shoving into his little mouth (so cute xP). He even guarded at the kitchen entrance to help get the marshmallows, not to circulate around but to put them in his mouth; you should have seen, his mouth was full with white stuff and he was still chucking in more!
The food was great. There was $50 tray worth of fried rice, baked chicken wings, hotdogs, cheese hotdogs, taiwan sausages, garlic bread and the birthday cake, of course. They bought some 30+ cans of JollyShandy too, but we also had packet drinks.
